PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT RECOVERY
Owing to the growing needs of the local recovery community, the Milwaukee Alano Club provides social programs and free services designed to remove the barriers many find when beginning their journey in living sober.

The Women's Initiative

We provide a progressive, educational network of resources and mentoring for women in recovery. Conducted by women who share similiar life experiences, the program supports women through ongoing events that focus on topics such as health, relationships, career assistance and financial planning.

The Jenich Youth Program

The Milwaukee Alano Club offers a scholarship program to provide temporary housing and living assistance for those ages 18 to 25. The Jenich Youth Program, named after our loving member George Jenich, also provides young people in recovery with resources, references and membership at the Milwaukee Alano Club.

The Alano Shop

To help those in need with basic life necessities, such as free clothing for adults and children, kitchenware, toiletries and bedding materials, we gather donations from members to give to people in recovery with limited or no income. Located on the third floor of the Milwaukee Alano Club, the Alano Shop is open every Sunday from noon - 2 p.m.

Childcare

Childcare is available at the Alano Club from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday during our "Chix at Six" meeting. This allows women to attend meetings while we provide a safe environment for their children.

Athletic-Based Partnerships

To support at-risk youth, the Milwaukee Alano Club shares referrals and resources in collaboration with Ace Boxing Club and REBOUND Athletics. Both off-site programs, led by volunteers active in recovery, provide a productive, positive and drug-free environment through the sports of boxing and basketball.

Legal Assistance

The road to recovery sometimes entails legal struggles and a lack of resources to seek appropriate counsel. We provide pro-bono legal services through attorneys in recovery to support a clear pathway towards responsible citizenship.

For more information about social programs found through the Milwaukee Alano Club, how to access these services or ways to contribute, please contact our Social Services Director, Theresa Sturzl, at 414.278.9102 ext. 2 or
